Altverse (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a music and collectible app that lets fans discover tracks, mint editions, and play discovery puzzles, including voice-based puzzles. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

1.1 Account and profile information

Email address and basic profile details you provide when you create an account.
Optional profile information such as display name and avatar.

1.2 Usage data

Actions you take in the app (e.g., playing puzzles, minting editions, listing items).
Device information such as model, operating system version, and anonymous identifiers.
Log data to help us diagnose issues and improve the app.

1.3 Audio and microphone data (RECORD_AUDIO)

When you use voice-based puzzles, we access your device microphone to capture short audio clips.
Audio is used only to process your puzzle attempt (for example, to detect or match your voice input).
We do not access the microphone outside of these features, and we do not record audio in the background.

Depending on how your account is set up, some of this data is stored in our backend services (e.g. Supabase, Firebase) to provide the app’s features and maintain security.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide core app functionality (music playback, puzzles, editions, marketplace, chat).
Process puzzle attempts, including voice-based puzzles that require microphone access.
Maintain and improve app performance, security, and reliability.
Communicate with you about your account, security notifications, and important updates.
Analyze aggregated and anonymized usage patterns to improve features.

We do not sell your personal information.

Microphone and Audio Permission (RECORD_AUDIO)

The app requests the Android permission android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO solely to support voice-based discovery puzzles and related audio features. Specifically:

The microphone is activated only when you start a puzzle or feature that requires voice input.
Audio is used to compute your puzzle answer and related results.
We do not use microphone access for advertising or unrelated tracking.

Data Storage, Sharing, and Retention

We store data using trusted third-party services such as Supabase and Firebase.
Data is transmitted over secure (HTTPS) connections.
We may share data with service providers who help us run the app (e.g. hosting, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications), but they are only allowed to use it on our behalf.
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below.

Your Rights and Choices

You can:

Update or delete your profile information in the app where available.
Disable microphone access at any time in your device settings. This may limit or disable voice-based puzzle features.
Request that we delete your account or data by contacting us at the email below.

Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we make changes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
